MAT Capital (MCAP) is a private investment affiliate of MAT Holdings which identifies and invests in middle market companies that provide an opportunity to leverage MAT Holdings’ financial and operating capabilities in partnership with management to increase shareholder value over time.
MCAP views its role in an investment situation to be that of a trusted partner and seeks to bring more than just capital to a portfolio company. In concert with management and other equity owners, MCAP can, where appropriate, provide resources and experience in the following areas: logistics and distribution, engineering services, domestic and low cost country manufacturing, financing markets, acquisition integration, information technology (including SAP), strategic planning, bi-lingual sourcing, sales and marketing and brand management.

- Strong management team with the desire for an equity interest in the company
- Differentiated products and services with defensible market positions
- Demonstrated history of strong customer relationships
- Potential for profitable growth via additional investment or acquisition
- $10mm to $100mm or more in revenue
TYPES
- Management buyouts – MCAP partners with management teams and existing equity owners to purchase control stakes in stand-alone businesses/corporate carve-outs
- Recapitalizations – MCAP partners with existing equity owners to facilitate a partial realization of their ownership interest or a restructuring of their debt securities
- Demonstrated history of strong customer relationships
